Dormer, born 11 February 1982, is an English actress from England. Her
nominations include an Empire Award, nominations for a Critics Choice Award as
well as two Gemini Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born in Reading,
Berkshire, Dormer made her mark in the character of Anne Boleyn on The Tudors,
a Showtime series The Tudors (2007-08), that won her praise from the public.
She made her stage debut in the play Sweet Nothings (2010) and portrayed the
Duchess of York in Madonna's film W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in
Captain America the First Avenger (2011). The performance she gave in After
Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic was praised. Dormer was praised
internationally and received recognition for her performances as Margaery
Tyrell (2012-2016 on HBO) and Cressida (2014-2015 on The Hunger Games), which
are among her most-watched films. She also voiced the role of Onica in The Dark
Crystal: Age of Resistance (2018), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016),
and Irene Adler/Moriarty for CBS's Elementary (2013)-15. Her praise was for her
character in Penny Dreadful City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born in Reading
(Berkshire), England on the 11th of February, 1982. She is the daughter of Gary
Dormer, Claire Richards and Samantha Dormer.
