Milena Govich

Milena Govich, who is a director as well as actor and musician has directed many episodes on TV including Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many more. Additionally, she was the Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently working on two pilots currently in progress. Milena was one of the eight women who were selected by AFI's highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her short film as well as a television show proof of concept was shown at SXSW. The film also won Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) was screened across the US. It was awarded Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has acted in over 100 episodes of television acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006), which led to her role as the first and only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or reprised on a variety of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and also in the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in numerous movies that include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and starring opposite Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Milena, a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she completed the double major in vocal performance and a premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named valedictorian. Soon after she took advantage of her ballet and classical training to make an appearance on Broadway in the production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
